re; AIRWYAS GYM PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Since the start of the Airways Gym in Papua New Guinea....All of the managers have left....the gym is deserted and none of the members have renewed...this gym is the perfect example of what NOT to do. Even the chinese woman managing on an interim basis was thrown out of the country after she was caught fraternizing with the clientele.

I travel the world and stay in luxury world class hotels on a very regular basis and often stay at the Airways Hotel. The Health & Racquet Club is without doubt a world class facility bar none, the staff are courteous and always friendly, the Technogym equipment is impeccably maintained, the club is spotlessly clean and over all a wonderful facility to exercise and relax with some breathtaking views.
Barry Yaxley you and your team operate a first class facility without exception, keep it up you are doing a great job, well done...............

The club that Barry Yaxley has been contracted to manage is poorly maintained with most of the fixtures made in China. The steam room is out of order for the majority of the time.

Great dissappointment.

That should be of interest to your readers.

For 2007, please consider the Health Club by Hilton at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside (see website at www.thehealthclub.us). It truly is exceptional.

I have used the gym at the Houstonian, and agree that it is unbelievable! I have ever experienced such a plethora of equipment to choose from at a "hotel" gym (technically, this gym is attached to the hotel, and not in it). Good choice for #1!

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites, and it has a good gym but you have to pay for it. Just a block away I found the Chicago City Centre Hotel and their gym is free! It's actually the Lakeshore Athletic Club in the same building and all hotel guests get free access - it's pretty amazing, they have yoga, pilates and cardio classes, large indoor pool, steam, sauna..free. I was impressed.
I'll stay there again.

Two thumbs up for the Park Hyatt in Philly. I stayed there several weeks ago (because of AMT) and can say that it is as nice, if not nicer than my gym at home. Water coolers, towels, and antibacterial cloths to wipe down machines were easily available (and people did use them), plus individual tv monitors on most of the cardio machines that you could just plug your headphones into . . . even a spray on tanning booth in the women's locker room. All free to hotel guests.

You can bet that I went every day of my stay.
